Halaqa
Being a small yet growing community we have amongst us some highly knowledgeable individuals who can interpret the Holy Qu’ran and can give context to Hadith’s that are relevant in todays society. We are very fortunate that these individuals find time once a month to share some of this knowledge with the rest of the community by organising a Halaqah. [Halaqah – A religious gathering for the study of Islam and the Qu’ran. A topic is presented by the speaker and once finished the audience is then given the chance to participate in discussions, ask questions and even voice their own opinions.
Mosque
In addition to daily congregational prayers, during the month of Ramadan Taraweeh & Eid congregations are also held at the centre. We have ablution facilities located on the ground floor near the toilets. We also have a disabled toilet which includes baby-changing facilities and if required there are shower facilities on site.
Saturday School
For the younger generation of our community we run a Saturday School at the centre made up of qualified Islamic Teachers and Volunteers who help the children to learn the Holy Quran, Islamic studies and Arabic language lessons using interactive and modern techniques to expand their Islamic knowledge. And also in school holiday time children participates Debates, Arts and Crafts competition. Motivational speakers also visits the centre from time to time to motivate the children in terms of their future plan.
Charitable Activities
GMCA (Grantham Muslim Community Association) actively participate in feeding the homeless through the local charity organisation and churches.
